Today the students returned from their weekend to find the classroom chrysalis's hatched into beautiful monarch butterflies!

We watched a video showing a time lapse of how a caterpillar becomes a chrysalis then finally a butterfly.

Students drew detailed butterflies to decorate the wall near our butterfly cage.

The butterflies feed on sugar water with a small piece of paper towel sticking out. They use their proboscis to feed on the sugar water like the nectar from a flower.
