Mathematics -  Solving Problems with a Hundred Chart

The hundred chart is a very useful tool for helping our young mathematicians find
number patterns, add & subtract amounts and solve problems

Students created a mathematical stories that used the hundred chart to find  solutions. Please ask your child to show you how to use this chart
to find how many books had been returned.

Mrs. Reimer said that 11 students from Room 6 had returned all library books
and 11 students from Room 7 had returned their library books.
How many books had been returned?

Students created their own mathematical story and used the hundred chart
to count up or count down to find a solution to their problem.

Students also use the hundred chart to play a dice game
that requires counting from 'rolled' one amount to the next.

Click on the hundred chart below to access a site
which allows you to create amazing number patterns
