Dear Parents,

It is so important for us to meet with you on Thursday or Friday this week for parent teacher conferences. We will be discussing your childs learning progression thus far and sharing their work with you. This will also be an opportunity for you to meet Mr. Lancee, the teacher who has taken over Mrs. Brar's class(for Mrs. Brar's students). Mr. Lancee and Mrs. Brar will both be present for each conference for students in room 6.

Notice coming home today: Tomorrow we will be practicing an internal lockdown. Please review the notice with your child. Ask them what their "job" is during the lock down.

Today Vista Heights was visited by Kananaskis in the Classroom for an assembly and guest speaker. The two presenters gave an informative presentation which included singing, dancing and involving the audience while learning about the life cycle and jobs of ants!

The presenters reviewed ant body parts, roles and different kinds of ants. After the assembly the presenters went to all the classes and discussed the content of the assembly as well as rebuilt ants and did role play games with the students. 

Our presenters were pretending to be a pupa and a fairy ant mother while describing the stages of ant life

The students worked in pairs and had to rebuild an ant that had been divided up into parts (mandible, thorax, legs etc)
