The fundraiser provides the opportunity for our students to participate in education field trips. Please try and sell as many books as possible. Please have all the orders back by September 16th.  Cheques should be made payable to Vista Heights School Council. For more information, visit http://www.sutp.com/

Learning Commons - Book Exchange
Mrs. Reimer met with each of our classes this week to discuss book exchange for this year.

Each day, students will be given the opportunity to exchange their books. Grade 1/2 students are allowed to take out one book, which they can have for up to a week. Once they return this book, they may get another!

When choosing a book, students need to use a browsing stick. When they pull out a book, they put the stick in its spot. If they decide to take out the book, they can remove the stick. If they choose to get a different book, the browsing stick tells them exactly where to put it!

Students are responsible of taking care of the books. They can do this by putting it in a plastic bag and making sure it doesn't get lost or damaged at home. In the event that your child loses or returns a damaged book, an invoice will be sent home for the full replacement value. This is to ensure we continue to have rich literature for all our students to read each year.

Also, once a week Mrs. Reimer will read a story to the students. We're very excited about this because she always chooses new books that the students may not know about, or introduces them to new authors!

Each child will be coming home today with a library book for you to enjoy together as a family. Regular book exchange will begin on Monday.

Thank you to those parents who have signed and return the consent to publish form sent home earlier this week. We are looking forward to post pictures of student learning on the blog! If you have not done so already, please review, sign and return the purple form. If you have any questions regarding form, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Traquair.
We are also missing a few indoor shoes. Please ensure your child has proper footwear that they can leave here at school each day. This helps keep our school clean, as well as provide them with appropriate support for their feet during physical education!
