Today the students had a wonderful field trip to Heritage Park Historical Site!
It was a sunny day filled with excitement, learning and exploring the "How the west was once."

We began our trip around Heritage Park first being greeted by the Steam Train that is over 130 years old.

Next we travelled to an old style store where students were able to see goods purchased by settlers.

Students visited the Mountie station where they learned about the daily duties of a Mountie.

We then visited the old school house where the students learned about how classes varied in age and discipline for not listening in class was handled with a "strap."

Onto the Tipis!

Inside the "Yellow Otter Tipi"

The moment the students had been waiting for... riding the train!

We stopped off and learned about farming and ranching in the old west.

We stopped for a break at the playground where the students pretended to be train conductors, shop owners and settlers.

Our last stop, the Prince's house. A lavish house which is said to be "haunted" to this day!

Thank you to our volunteers for all your help!
