Watching our Writing Grow

Our beginning writers have been working diligently to 'grow their writing'. 

Students have been using the following rubric to guide their writing 

and find the 'growing stage' their work

'The Seed Stage'

-a simple sentence

- may have spacing between words

-writing and illustration has a simple detail

'The Stem Stage'

- writing has a couple simple sentences

- illustrations have a couple of details

'The Leaf Stage'

- writing contains more simple sentences

- illustrations have more details

'The Blooming Flower Stage'

- many simple sentences

-some punctuation

-spacing between words

-illustrations have lots of details
