Today in our classroom we did a review of counting by twos!
We began by reading a story called Shoes by Twos
In the story a shoe clerk sells pairs of shoes and counts the pairs as they are sold. The students count by twos along with the story as the shoe clerk sells more and more shoes.
We brainstormed other objects that come in twos as a class (laces, mittens etc)
The children then became shoe clerks and had to sell shoes by drawing pairs of shoes in their math book and counting the shoes by twos!
We also used drawing on the white board, using pattern blocks and selling other paired objects as a way of showing our understanding with counting by twos.
